UNIT 3: THE FRACTION MATRIX

STATUS: [READY FOR INPUT]

INSTRUCTOR: Dr. Ada, Lead Scientist 👩‍🔬

📂 INTRODUCTION: Entering the High-Res Zone

Welcome back, Junior Scientist!

In Unit 1, we studied the Base Ten System (Whole Numbers).

In Unit 2, we studied the Operations Core (Calculations).

Now, in Unit 3, we are entering the Fraction Matrix.

Many students find this scary. They prefer nice, clean whole numbers like 5 or 100.

But the real world is messy.

  • A recipe doesn't call for "1 bag of sugar," it calls for "3/4 of a cup."

  • A builder doesn't cut a board "about 2 feet," they cut it "2 and 5/8 inches."

Think of Fractions as "High-Resolution" Data.

If you look at an old video game, the graphics are blocky (Whole Numbers).

If you look at a modern game, t
