Community and Social Relationships

This lesson explores la comunidad (the community) and the social relationships that hold it together. Useful vocabulary includes la sociedad (society), el barrio (the neighborhood), los vecinos (neighbors), la familia (family), los amigos (friends), and la convivencia (living together / coexistence), a key IB word describing how people from different backgrounds share the same space. People may colaborar (collaborate), participar (participate), and ayudar (help) one another, or sadly discriminar (discriminate) and excluir (exclude).
