Director, Producer, and Screenwriter

Filmmaking is a collaborative art, and its collaboration is organized through roles. Three roles sit near the origin of a film's creative and practical life: the screenwriter who shapes the story on the page, the director who realizes it on screen, and the producer who makes the project possible. The screenwriter

The screenwriter creates the blueprint of the film, developing story, structure, characters, and dialogue in the form of a screenplay. Screenwriting is a craft of its own, translating ideas into scenes that can be filmed and building a narrative that unfolds in images and sound. A screenplay is not the finished film but a plan for it, written in a format that communicates act
