Master Scope & Sequence: Grade 5 Math (Common Core)

Theme: 8-Bit Logic Lab (Text-Based / Low-Bandwidth)

Goal: Mastery of CCSS Grade 5 Math to advance to 6th Grade.

Duration: One Full Academic Year (Approx. 32-36 Weeks)

Core Competencies & Skills Checklist

By the end of this course, students will demonstrate the following skills:

  1. Place Value System:

  • Skill: Understanding that a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right.

  • Example: Knowing that the '5' in 500 is ten times larger than the '5' in 50.

  1. Decimal Operations:

  • Skill: Read, write, and compare decimals to thousandths; add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals.

  • Example: Calculating 3.50 + 1.25 = 4.75 or comparing 0.4 > 0.35.
